About Jamuna Industrial Agro Group
A Legacy of Enterprise
Jamuna Industrial Agro Group started its journey in 1982 under the leadership of renowned industrialist Mr. Md. Lutfar Rahman. He first established M/S Rahman and Co. in Rajshahi as a first-class construction firm and later expanded into export and import activities in 1990.
The group grew steadily into transport with National Travels in 2001 and Desh Travels in 2012. In 2005, after recognizing the storage needs of farmers in the fertile Rajshahi region, Jamuna Seeds Storage (Pvt.) Limited was launched to preserve potatoes and other agricultural produce.
JIAG later strengthened its focus on agro-sector development and employment generation. Rahman Jute Mills (Pvt.) Limited was launched in 2006, followed by Jamuna Jute Industries Limited in 2011 as a 100% export-oriented manufacturer focused on high-grade jute yarns and products.
After observing strong demand for rice bran oil in northern Bangladesh, the group incorporated Jamuna Edible Oil Industries Limited in 2012. Commercial production began on April 10, 2015, adding rice bran, soybean, canola, and rapeseed oil to the group's industrial portfolio.
